Grant Description

The 10th Research Conference in Nordic Health Promotion Research, "Sustainability and impact on health and well-being", is planned for 14–16 June 2023.

The Academy for Health and Welfare is hosting the conference at Halmstad University in collaboration with the Nordic Health Promotion Research Network (NHPRN), www.nhprn.com The conference aims to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and research experiences between countries, particularly Nordic countries.

Comparisons of similarities and differences within the various Nordic countries will be highlighted, which can contribute to a Nordic added value. Health promotion is multidisciplinary, so that issues will be highlighted from different angles. The conference´s main theme is "Sustainability and impact on health and well-being".

The focus will be: How can Agenda 2030 be understood from a health promotion perspective, and what efforts must be made to maintain sustainability after 2030? This will be addressed in three sub-themes. The first deals with sustainability issues from a critical welfare perspective.

The second is about developing e-health structures in society, implementing digital innovations for health promotion, and how they contribute to improved equality, efficiency and quality in health and welfare services.

The third focuses on strategies that facilitate a health-promoting society where all people can be healthy and reach their full potential through participation in various organised and unorganised physical activity environments and activities.

The target group for the conference is researchers, doctoral students, and master´s students from multiple disciplines. The estimated number of participants is 150.

Two well-known international researchers have been invited as keynote speakers at the conference, and eight leading Nordic researchers for the three sub-themes. The conference´s output will be an open-access publication in an international journal.
