The uniqueness of the conference is the combination of science and popular science in a single day, with electiveness in terms of the scope and form of participation.
This is not least because the theme of the conference is user involvement, that is, collaboration between researchers and knowledge users outside academia.Scientific partThe conference contains a full scientific program with presentation of results from three doctoral and one licentiate dissertation, a postdoctoral program with a focus on research policy dimensions of user involvement, and an ongoing panel study. We also address national and international developments and research needs regarding user involvement in research.Public partOn the theme "Do people in general want to be involved in research?" our PhD students present their projects in a "science slam" format, supplemented by stories from people who participated in our research. This part also contains a presentation of results from a panel study on attitudes towards/experiences of user involvement, among the public 60+ and researchers.
The burning question When and how do research have an impact in society? will be discussed.Open house at MoRe-LabDuring lunch, we offer all participants to see and experience the new research infrastructure MoRe-Lab at Lund University.
There you can study, for example, walking ability and muscle strength with advanced equipment and conduct observational studies in a standardized home environment.
While eating their lunch, participants can look at posters and visit book tables and demonstrations of tools developed within UserAge.UserAge, a research program on user involvementThe UserAge research program, financed by Forte, addresses the need for new solutions that support active and healthy ageing and meet the challenges in the welfare system.
The results from UserAge are investigating and responding to different ideas about collaboration between researchers and knowledge users.
