Purpose and goal:
Make EU a main player on the digital market, both for products and human skills. And, EuroHPC JU has the overall goal to deploy in Europe world-class exascale supercomputers. Expected results and effects:
The ZeroPoint technology is currently in the early days and every proof that can support the achievements of the technology is of importance to build confidence in the performance acceleration and power efficiency benefits of ZeroPoint technology.
The EPAC 2.0 chip will show that the technology works on silicon and the actual numbers that we have produced based on simulation can be verified and supported by a physical proof. With this implementation we will be able to verify the 30-50% memory bandwidth acceleration and the 15-30% system power reduction.
Approach and implementation:
ZeroPoint Technologies will work in Stream 3: Accelerators. And integrate the memory bandwidth acceleration technology on the EPAC 2.0 chip.
ZeroPoint will deliver its technology in Stream 3 to enable performance acceleration at unmatched power efficiency. The other partners will implement ZeroPoint and other partner’s technology on a chip, and assure manufacturability and production quality. At the return of the chip from manufacturing, additional partners will verify the system together with SW and share the performance acceleration and power efficiency measurements.
