Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The purpose was to map and identify needs to develop the energy system in the North Harbor in Malmö so that industries in the area and also outside can conduct sustainable and resilient activities. The project has worked based on a mission-oriented working method and, in addition to the technology area, has analyzed the areas of policy, cooperation, infrastructure and business models.

Based on this work, a plan for the implementation and completion of a full-scale system demonstrator has been developed, where a proposal was received by Vinnova on October 14, to implement the next step. Expected results and effects: Key parts: 1. Map available resources and flexibility assets 2. Analyze development needs and appropriate energy storage technologies.

3. Develop a digital modeling of the Energy Harbor area and test different scenarios of industries´ needs for different energy solutions 4. Conduct pilot testing and system integration of energy storage technologies and flexibility solutions. 5. Develop collaboration and business models and analyze how pilot tests can be scaled up.

We want to show how the energy system for a resilient industry can be developed in other regions. Approach and implementation:

In the first part of the project, the project participants have acquired knowledge about mission-oriented working methods by participating in two workshops organized by Vinnova. In the second part, the project participants have mapped actors, driving forces and obstacles based on a societal system analysis based on mission-oriented working methods. In the third part, a workshop has been organized where representatives of 15 organizations gave additional input to the project´s areas. In the fourth part, a plan ( proposal) for a full-scale system demonstrator has been developed.
