Purpose and goal:
The objective of the roadmap has been to strengthening research and development of biotechnological applications in Sweden related to 2D materials, as well as speeding up future investments and collaborations. Applications of 2D materials in biotechnology/life sciences have been identified, specifically within:
- Sensors, bioimaging and bioelectronics - Printed electronics for biotechnological applications - Smart membranes - Antimicrobial and antiviral surfaces - Drug delivery and new therapies - Biotechnology, including tissue engineering and regenerative medicine Expected results and effects:
The report identifies areas of strength and potential opportunities, and discusses challenges. It paints the visions beyond 2030 and recommends activities and actions needed to achieve them. Approach and implementation:
The roadmap has been developed by RISE and Chalmers Industriteknik in collaboration with stakeholders in academia and industry. The project has conducted interviews and collected information via questionnaires and studied roadmaps, reports, scientific articles and patents.
The result has been summarized in a report that is disseminated on SIO Grafen´s web page and that will be spread through social media. It has also been presented at a webinar.
