Purpose and goal:
The purpose and goal of the project is to develop a Cognitive Digital Twin (CDT) platform prototype for the production plant of timber modular houses with self-learning and optimized production planning and control enabling resource-aware, energy-efficient, low emission and low-cost production methods.
Expected results and effects:
The project will contribute to the next generation of Digital Twins in modular construction production progress supporting decision making using real-time data and having automatic control feedback with optimized production strategies. The project will provide sustainable technological and ecosystem-based solutions, increase the use of modeling and simulation in the production phase of sustainable modular houses, and contribute to a standardization framework for sustainability in circular economy, considering environmental, economic, and social values.
Approach and implementation:
The project COGNITION will be carried out through three years, and will be structured in 7 Work Packages (WP) with the following research approach: - WP1: Cognitive Requirements, Use Cases and Data - WP2: Analytics and AI for adaptation of CDTs in the production of sustainable modular timber houses.
- WP3: Cognitive Digital Twins - WP4: Knowledge Graphs and Process Modelling - WP5: Robust Optimization Methods - WP6: Testing, Validation, and Impact Assessment - WP7: Dissemination, Business Innovation and Impact Creation
