The Connector - The tech scouting conference, Israel

Purpose and goal:

The purpose and goal for The Connector conference was to get familiar with Israeli startup scene, investment climate, get familiar with innovations in the area of Ag- and FoodTech in Israel and to establish strategic, business partnerships with innovative young companies and well established corporations acting in Israel, Europe, Asia and the USA. And to be able to present IRROT in Israel, to communicate to the interested parties, including academia.

Expected results and effects:

During three days we visited several startup hubs and innovation centers in Tel Aviv and in the north of Israel. Lots of innovative projects were presented by the startup founders, researchers and well established global companies. During the conference day many pitches were presented by Israeli and Swedish startups and corporations. Sadly One-on-one meetings were not organized well in advance and some of them were canceled at the very last moment, but hoping to have those meetings digitally.

Approach and implementation:

The whole event was well organized by Business Sweden, Vinnova and other parties including the Swedish Embassy in Tel Aviv. The program was very intense, but we were able to accomplish more than we expected in a short period of time. Important that we had time for many networking opportunities, direct contacts, presentations and informal meetings. Pretty happy with the trip and looking forward to a productive future.
