Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

Vertical gardens improve air quality, insulation, biodiversity, aesthetic and psychological benefits. Vertisà AB has developed a module-based system that includes an integrated irrigation system. Vertisà module-based system is specially designed to support the Nordic climate. The goal was to install a vertical garden in Umeå to test the system, develop the business plan, attract clients´ attention and develop marketing material.

Expected results and effects:

Conducting this project we have reached important results such as the installation of Vertisàs first vertical garden, and testing the water system at a larger scale. This garden has helped us showcase our product to clients in the construction sector, Umeå University, and Umeå municipality. The project has also contributed to develop Vertisàs´ business model. We have also created films and pictures for marketing the Vertisà system in social media, web pages, and exhibitions.

Approach and implementation:

In this project, we have built a 8 m2 vertical garden at Umeå Bildmuseet in collaboration with Design Skola, Umeå. The garden was presented on social media (Instagram, LinkedIn) and has contributed to drawing attention to customers in the construction sector, Umeå University and Umeå Municipality. We have also developed graphic material (film and pictures) to market Vertisà system.
