Atlantis Mycology, Urban Mushroom Farming

Purpose and goal:

The purpose of the project was to contribute to sustainable production and consumption through local food production, and to contribute to soil improvement and biodiversity through the use of the residual product of mushroom cultivation. To these ends, we have converted an insulated container into a mushroom farm. The construction is recently completed and the first deliveries have been made with good results.

The next step is to automate the cultivation processes with AI technology and to make the container self-sufficient in energy through solar cells. Expected results and effects:

We will patent the design of the container and as soon as we have full production we will build another container through a profit sharing model - as described in our original application. The effects of our production is more resilient self-sufficient cities, less transport emissions, and a an alternative source of protein with higher protein value than chicken.

We have delivered the first SMC to local organic farmers. The effects of this is enhanced biodiversity and richer soils with more nutritious crops. Approach and implementation:

We spent more time on design and construction than anticipated, but that has resulted in a system that is more easily calibrated, easier to automate, and also seek patent for. Vi have kept customer relations alive by cultivating mushrooms at home and delivering to them. As we currently have more interested customers than we can deliver to with one container, what is left for us now is to systematize growth, harvest, and delivery.
