Purpose and goal:
The current standard of care relies on single-plane measurements under Response Assesment in Neuro-Oncology (RANO). These measurements are unable to capture the irregular shape of brain tumors (BT) and are oversimplifying complicated growth patterns. Precise volumetry is, however, not practical as it requires manual tumor outlining, which is too time consuming for clinical routine. Thus, automatic segmentation would benefit diagnosis, radiotherapy planning, and treatment monitoring.
Expected results and effects: The development of an AI based system for volumetric measurements of neurooncology lesions visualized by MRI. Approach and implementation: Ground truth will be established through retrospective imaging data, and then an AI algorithm will be developed.
