Transport is one of the single biggest issues in stopping climate change and reducing environmental impact.
In Sweden today, rural areas are exempted in the belief that there is too little customer base for functioning public transport.
If we continue to plan public transport in the same way as in the city, then previous investigations in Ånge municipality´s sparsest geography show that with a new way of looking at public transport in rural areas and with a completely different arrangement than in the city, there is potential to create a relevant public transport even in very sparse rural areas.
But this requires resources, new ways of working, cross-sector collaboration and a co-creation process, and that is what the project aims to develop. The project is divided into five activities, where Ånge municipality and the project partner Din Tur, the municipal association - The Collective Transport Agency in Västernorrland County, share the areas of responsibility:- Current situation and needs analysis- Dialogue and co-creation- Marketing- Digital platform- Traffic planning and procurement
