The purpose of the project is to show the relationship between the SPS conferences and the six industrial challenge areas within Produktion2030, to show collaboration between industry and academia and how this provides value to both parties. Based on the analysis of publications and the conducted interviews, the project must show what may be of importance in the future.

The articles have given a cross-section of Swedish production research and during the interviews we have met several people who are deeply involved in Swedish production research and who are not only passionate about their own research but also about building a national environment with good conditions for continued research and collaboration. The project has shown that the commitment of many, together with industrial cooperation and investments such as Produktion2030, has built Swedish production research.

The total of 206 articles published at the SPS conferences in 2018, 2020 and 2022 have been analyzed based on data such as, for example, author, collaboration, results and focus of the article. The results of the analysis have then formed the basis of ten semi-structured articles that were carried out with representatives from Svenska Produktionsakademin and industry partners.
