Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The project intends to study how future air traffic control can be made more efficient by using autonomous aircraft. Specifically, we want to investigate how we can replace the daily surveillance and wildlife management at airports, which today is mostly done by humans with dogs, with the help of autonomous AI-equipped drones that identify and remove the animals from airport runways.

Today there is a need to be able to autonomously monitor the roller coasters around the clock and ensure that no game is on them as this means due to extensive security risks linked to financial resources. Expected results and effects:

We want to investigate how we can replace the daily surveillance and wildlife management at airports using FLOX autonomous AI-equipped drones that remove the animals from airport runways. Approach and implementation: The project is divided into three test phases in spring 2023, autumn 2023 and spring 2024.
