Communicating Earth system boundaries for a safe, just planet

The Earth Commission is anticipated to launch its findings for a stable and just planet in early 2023. The results are poised to be directly acted on by end users in the real economy. The roll out of results over 2023-24 will comprise of a range of complimentary activities to different audiences.

We will target Swedish and international stakeholders at major global policy fora, targeted science and international media, and as support science translation to the business community.

We wish to showcase positive future visions of our planet based on the science of the Earth Commission, to galvanize action towards planetary stewardship.

We seek funding to produce creative, accessible and compelling graphics with a professional designer to translate the science for various communicative engagements.

The visuals will be used to translate the Earth commission science - showcasing a more sustainable world - to specific audiences via the following channels.

Following on from a ‘Science launch’ moment in early 2023 that is currently being planned, we will continue to liaise with the press via international science media centers and keep up momentum on mainstreaming science-based targets (SBTs) for climate and nature.

These SBTs empower all actors to work towards avoiding crossing safe and just boundaries and keep at a safe distance from dangerous tipping points
