Purpose and goal: The overall goal is to reduce CO2 emissions from concrete by mobilizing the entire value chain in climate work with focus on legislative and financial
challenges and technical solutions. The goal is to create conditions for production and use of climate-neutral cement, alternative binders and climate-improved concrete for constructions for all exposure classes so that carbon dioxide emissions from concrete will be neutral in 2045 and at the same time technically and economically sustainable.
Expected results and effects:
Cooperation will contribute to increased understanding of theimplementation of the roadmaps´ . Development of alternative binders and alternative material flows as well as collection of KPIs and development of demonstrators increase the diversity of existing solutions for CO2 reduction in cement and concrete and contribute
to reduced overall CO2 emissions. The effect will be new materials, new production processes, new business models, new standards and increased resilience against national market changes and geopolitical events. Approach and implementation:
The project is conducted as a collaborative project with 24 parties with RISE as project manager. The work is divided into 9 work packages with well-defined objective and roles. The project will be led by the project manager and controlled by a steering group consisting of coordinating AP leaders.
Changes to the work plan, consortium or conflict resolution are handled by representatives per participating party. Decisions on IPR, communication are handled by the entire consortium. The steering group will meet 6 times/year, APs 1 time/month and the consortium will gather 2 times/year.
