Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

My main research project was presented at Kyushu university, with great acceptance. Also, we discovered many potential collaborations with the final aim to research better human-robot interactions for older adults, so the main objective is fulfilled. Expected results and effects:

Ultimately, the aim of my project is to set a basis to create more inclusive robots for older users. Participating and presenting my research in the ´technological aspects of aging’ session at this MIRAI R&I Week 22 definitely helped towards this. I met many people interested in my topic and that I have the potential to collaborate, which was the main goal of this one-week trip.

Approach and implementation:

I was strategic in attending those sessions that could be more impactful for my research. We believe the "technology & older adults" session was the one we could benefit more from, but we also attended the "AI" session, as it contained talks on applications of this technology for other types of users (such as older adults). In this sense, I maximized the stay and the potential benefits in terms of knowledge and/or interesting connections to keep my research growing.
