Purpose and goal:
The overall goal of SIISH is to significantly reduce the time for innovative solutions to be implemented in Swedish healthcare. The project will contribute to the creation of a national, coherent system for innovation, with strengthened conditions to drive innovation in a harmonised way across the country. Seven regional innovation systems, with representation from university hospitals, regional innovation support functions, incubators, and innovation offices, will collaborate in the project and ensure dissemination of results to other regions throughout the country.
Expected results and effects:
Faster implementation of innovative solutions in healthcare leads to better health for patients. Healthcare prioritises resources for innovation. Pathways between healthcare and industry/adademia are clearly organised, well known and frequently used. Interpretation/development of regulations creates conditions for small businesses to contribute to healthcare development. Swedish healthcare is internationally recognised as an attractive partner, which attracts expertise and investments to Sweden.
Approach and implementation: The SIISH project is planned to run for 3-years. The project is divided into four work packages (WP): - AP1 aims to harmonise the seven regional innovation ecosystems and carry out improvement sprints - WP2 focuses on knowledge development and dissemination - WP3 will engage policy and regulatory makers to improve the conditions for innovation
- AP4 includes overall project management.
In an initial phase, the project will be planned in detail and relevant support groups will be set up (e.g. Steering Group and Advisory Board).
