Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The overall goal of this project is to create a sustainable workplace where autonomous mobile collaborative robots and humans work together safely and efficiently by having the following research activities: (i) developing human-robot interaction strategies, (ii) developing the techniques for perception and forecasting of moving rigid-objects and humans, and (iii) developing on-line planning and control approaches for the mobile collaborative robots.

Expected results and effects: A sustainable workplace where robots and humans work together safely and efficiently, taking

advantage of the strengths of both humans and robots. This will be done by taking the perspective of the human and analyzing how the interaction with to robot will be done so that the communication will be simple and effective. The control of the robot will use computer vision and artificial intelligence to predict what the human operator wishes to do and what it will do in the near future.

Approach and implementation:

Two use cases, one from AB Volvo and one from AstraZeneca, will be used to guarantee the industrial relevance of AIHURO. Researchers from Chalmers, University of Skövde, and Chalmers Industriteknik will together with the companies develop algorithms and tools to handle the challenges in the project,
