Innovation agenda for industrial digitalisation

Purpose and goal:

The previous agenda for PiiA´s first 10-years includes keywords that are still relevant. With the aim set on continued work after 2024, PiiA wants to clarify and develop an agenda with more descriptive content.

In the new agenda, PiiA´s completed projects, activities and analyzes have been taken advantage of and PiiA´s stakeholders in industry, academia and innovation environments have been involved and in various ways contributed to the agenda and thus pointed to a future direction in the area that PiiA addresses.

Expected results and effects:

PiiA now has an agenda with a publication year of 2024 that is anchored by the program´s stakeholders and that well describes both the background and continued direction and work within Processindustrial digitalization. During 2025 and 2026, updates will be made so that the agenda is available in an updated version at the end of the program.

The content of the agenda now affects PiiA´s work, strategic project and proposals for new project. It is also used to ensure that R&D in the area continues in other programmes and contexts, where funding is available. Approach and implementation:

The agenda has been developed by the project group with support of the program´s board of directors, industry councils and other stakeholders. Activities carried out:

- Round table discussion initially with leading industry participants in Västerås and through ProcessIT Innovations in Luleå. - Interviews with representatives of process industry, suppliers, SME and academia. - Studies of other agendas and steering documents and analysis of PiiA´s project portfolio.

- Regular project meetings and conversations in steering group meetings. - Dissemination of the agenda document.
