Purpose and goal:
ShiftLabs is one of the European Digital Innovation Hubs established in Europe. This project aims to strengthen the Swedish manufacturing industry, specifically small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. The focus on small and medium-sized manufacturing companies is important as this is a category of companies that need extra support in adopting digital technologies to be competitive and reach their sustainability goals.
Expected results and effects:
The project gathers resources and competences through already capable regional technology centers in order to further increase and improve offers to the manufacturing industry in Sweden through collaboration. The establishment of a European innovation hub will also strengthen the actors´ international connection, thereby further strengthening the supply of services to the industry.
The project will deliver results related to testbeds, support for the introduction of digital tools, and skills development. Approach and implementation:
The hub is established as a network with nodes in Mälardalen, Stockholm/Södertälje, Skövde and Gothenburg. It is a unique project where Mälardalen university, Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center, Royal institute of technology, Södertälje Science Park, Chalmers university, The Skövde university, RISE and EIT Manufacturing North work together to support the industry with skills development and the introduction of digital technology.
This includes creating meeting places and networks and to offer services ranging from inspirational seminars to entire training courses.
