Purpose and goal: The project offers an innovative approach to breast cancer diagnosis and treatment by combining biopsy with tumor removal, without open surgery, saving precious healthcare
time and cost. For patients this means faster treatment, immediate recovery, and no hospital stay. For healthcare: a reduced workload, less in-patient care, ease of use and major time and cost savings. Over 6 million breast biopsies are conducted each year. We aim to revolutionize breast cancer diagnosis and treatment for women throughout the world, enabling a system transformation in breast cancer management.
Expected results and effects:
The method involves blunt penetration and electrocautery cutting to reach the lesion, which means minimal risk for bleeding. For patients, this means faster treatment, immediate recovery and no hospital stay. For healthcare: reduced workload, less need for inpatient care, increased ease of use, and major time and cost savings.
Approach and implementation: The project has three work packages and all partners are involved in each phase. WP 1: Project management, market strategy and communication WP 2: Cadaver study WP 3: Clinical Investigation: Pre-explant investigation
