Purpose and goal:
Our project, SEOS (Social and Sustainable Innovative Models for an Accelerated Climate Transition), focused on transforming the Swedish energy system by creating conditions for accepted social models for coexistence and collaboration, leading to increased renewable energy production and cooperation. With the participation of over 80 stakeholders and a strong focus on creating social models for sustainability and coexistence, we have built trust and understanding.
Through a joint application with Lindholmen Science Park, we are now working together towards our common goals. Expected results and effects:
Over 80 relevant stakeholders comprehend the significance of promoting new social models for sustainable energy transition. The project has contributed to enhancing awareness of the challenges involved in scaling up renewable energy production. It is noted that all countries face similar challenges, particularly those with indigenous populations.
Our initial ambition was an independent application, backed by a strong coalition. Securing funding posed a significant challenge, leading to a joint application with Lindholmen SP. Approach and implementation:
The project was organized through a diverse array of activities, including digital and physical meetings, workshops, and interviews. All 80+ relevant stakeholders were actively engaged in various capacities. Additionally, the project enlisted several experts from different fields, contributing to a nuanced understanding from diverse system perspectives.
Their involvement enhanced the overall project framework and provided valuable insights into designing a Program Office for long-term development of new social models for a sustainable energy transition.
