Actor Driven Lab for Safety

Purpose and goal:

The pre-study project Aktörsdrivet Trygghetslabb explored the conditions for a test bed for new working methods with support of new technology in the area of perceived safeyt in urban environments in Kista. The goal of the project was to form an actor-driven team, a value network and together explore data-driven ways of working in a complex issue such as safeyt in public space.

Expected results and effects:

Together, the lab´s participants broke down a complex question into several steps and tried new ways of working. An actor network with proven power of action in the area of safety in the urban space is activated and opportunities and obstacles for running a test bed have been identified. Approach and implementation:

Trygghetslabbet formed an overall process and principles (way-of-working), gathered actors and explored measurement of and visualization of data about the public space in two pilots together with actors from the City of Stockholm, property owners and businesses in Kista. A systematic way of working created participation and action around shared needs. An actor driven capacity was attained to a certain degree.
