Purpose and goal:
ASAP-PoC addresses the need for qualified clinical decision support (CDS) in civil and military prehospital PoC (Point-of-Care) healthcare. CDS are based on AI and data fusion and utilizes the Digital Health Sandbox - a simulated environment for tests in prototype development. ASAP-PoC also designs MAIN, a triple-helix model that enables utilization and dissemination of CDS via commercial IT platforms.
In MAIN, issues around interoperability, MDR, IP, clinical verification, etc. are handled. In ASAP-PoC, prototypes will be tested in DH Sandbox and commercial IT platform. Expected results and effects:
- Scientifically-based "packaged" prototypes for AI-based PoC decision support modules in trauma and brain injury with interfaces that enable integration into healthcare´s existing and future prehospital IT platforms.
- Model for AI utilizatioN (MAIN); proposal for a triplehelix model for R&D packaging and utilization of AI, as well as increased sustainability in society and business.
- Communicated information, incl. scientific, in various channels about the project, its results and recommendations regarding e.g. interoperability, standards and legal issues Approach and implementation:
ASAP PoC is run according to the team´s VIPHS model (Verified Innovation Process for Healthcare Solutions). The project shall lead to prototype solutions verified in realistic simulations, i.e. step 2. The project is made up of 8 work packages: 1) Orchestration; 2) Clinical process analysis, requirement specification etc. (VIPHS 1); 3) AI - algorithms dev. & test; 4) Design & test ASAP PoC system; 5) Simulations & evaluation prototype (VIPHS 2); 6) MAIN; 7) Legal & Privacy; 8) Dissemination. The project consortium consisting of 8 parties maps clinical challenges and designs solutions.
