Smart and Safe

Purpose and goal:

The overall objective of the Smart & Safe project is to increase the perceived safety of children and young people in public environments, through the use of IoT solutions with aim of making use of and enabling the use of modern technology and smart solutions in public areas. The project has the following three sub-goals:

- Through smarter methods, move more efficiently from need to procurement of a finished solution; - Using data to create new behaviors (e.g. through nudging); - Lay the foundations for collaboration between organizations through knowledge building and data sharing Expected results and effects:

The project aims to bring together actors who do not usually work together. This is particularly important to create movement around common challenges in society, where perceived safety in public outdoor environments is one such. Municipality, companies, academia, police, innovation-promoting actors and civil society, will work together on the challenge.

Expected results are: - Safety measurements - Finished solution to defined need - Guidelines how to create new behaviors - Smart & Safe model for collaboration across organizational boundaries Approach and implementation: Smart & Safe aims to compare different approaches:

A process for a demand-driven approach where the demand is at the center and through innovation procurement methods (Demand Acceleration) you can go from demand to implemented solution more efficiently.

A process for a technology-driven approach where concrete technical solutions will be developed together with demand owners and enablers in cross-functional teams.

The approaches will be analyzed to see whether they have an impact on the result or add other positive aspects via the implementation.
