Purpose and goal:
Intelligent production technology is vital for sustainable and competitive manufacturing in high-salary nations. Robots offer cost-effective, resource-efficient designs with exceptional flexibility and capability. To unleash their full potential, we must overcome the limitations of robot accuracy, which currently hinder commissioning and process diversity.
The goal of this project is to create a fundamentally new way of providing robot calibration, and thereby cutting-edge robot accuracy, to the market. Contributing to the sustainable future we all need. Expected results and effects:
The project aims to create a portable and cost-effective measurement device for in-cell deployment, together with a powerful software stack to make robot calibration accessible to all robot users. The software stack will be instrumental in providing superior robot accuracy by facilitating elasto-kinematic robot calibration and offering comprehensive user guidance throughout the calibration process.
Approach and implementation: To achieve the project goal, the consortia will combine their expertise and conduct research on the following aspects: Exploring possibilities for simultaneous highly accurate measurements of forces and displacements. Predicting system capabilities. Developing optimal measurement trajectories, elasto-kinematic robot models, and parameter identification algorithms.
The research findings will be integrated into the design and production of the robust measurement equipment. Additionally, they will contribute to the development of the comprehensive software stack.
