Purpose and goal:
The objective of this project is to develop a modular, high-performance parallel-kinematic machine for flexible and adaptive manufacturing. Cognibotic’s robot concept bridges the gap between industrial robots and CNC machines, which have certain limitations in high-scale production potential. It will be developed for industrial applications demanding the highest accuracy, dynamics, and rigidity in production lines for lean die-casted structures used e.g. in automotive (especially e-mobility), aerospace and marine industries.
Expected results and effects:
This project transforms the technological concept of our parallel kinematic robot into a full-fledged industrial manufacturing system dedicated to a highly profitable and prestigious automotive industry.
The planned result of our project is a single module of the complete manufacturing system with all of the critical hardware and software components, enabling us to showcase and test the technical operability. The developed prototype system will become a modular solution tailored to individual customer projects run by Cognibotics and ELHA (Germany).
Approach and implementation:
Our manufacturing system will be built on top of the proprietary technical concepts (Cognibotics & ELHA). Collaboration with ELHA, a certified provider of state-of-the-art machine tools for individual manufacturing processes within the automotive assembly lines, will help us to turn our robotic concept into a market-ready product. Cognibotics, in conjunction with ELHA, will sell tailored manufacturing systems leveraging the new robotic platform. Here, we focus on R&D tasks, building a sector-specific PKM-ADAM prototype, and testing.
