The project´s goal is to offer actors with housing supply responsibility more tools to promote mobility within the housing stock.
By testing active matching aimed at vulnerable groups, the project contributes to a socially sustainable housing market. The project creates a testbed to investigate the effects of different incentives to stimulate migration chains with a focus on vulnerable housing groups within the public sector.
By actively matching housing to vulnerable households, the project can address system-specific lock-in effects in metropolitan areas within the framework of current regulations.
The project tests and evaluates possible ways to initiate increased mobility among older residents with large living spaces and families with children. The role of municipality owned rental housing in the housing market is to provide sustainable and affordable housing for all. The project is a collaboration between Sweden´s largest public housing company Svenska Bostäder and KTH.
The project focuses on the housing market in the Greater Stockholm area and studies are carried out within Svenska Bostäder´s rental portfolio. The project´s function as a test bed means the opportunity to test ideas and incentives on a small scale in a real life context and then model these results to enable a broader discussion about possible beneficial effects for Svenska Bostäder and for large cities with municipal housing agency, as well as overall societal effects.
