The project is specified through a threefold aim.
The first aim includes contributing knowledge on how construction cooperatives and collective housing can contribute to sustainable social infrastructures.
The second aim is to identify obstacles and possibilities for succesful construction collaborations and housing cooperatives.
The third aim is to spread knowledge and develop methods based on empirical research for support aimed at construction collaborations and housing cooperatives.
One of the project´s goals is to test and develop a methodology for the mobilization and support of goups, at all stages, namely - start-up, construction and management phase. The project aims to research how housing cooperatives can contribute to reducing involuntary loneliness, increased integration, and how construction cooperatives can contribute with sustainable housing solutions for the elderly in rural areas.
The project´s target group are groups who, for various reasons, have difficulties the regular housing market. These groups can benefit from the solutions offered by construction cooperatives and housing co-ops.
Collective housing or other forms of housing communities are far from new, however, from a societal perspective, they can contribute to addressing contemporary and future sustainability issues in terms of resources used for construction and heating and thereby contribute to a sustainable society.
