My chance

Purpose and goal:

The project´s aim is to, through a co-created process with the target group, and based on the expertise of four civil society organizations, test and refine an integrated after-shool activity program that combines physical activity, study support and forums for personal development, with the goal that more children complete elementary school. We want to provide a prototype for how civil society can work with compensatory efforts to contribute to breaching the gap and give all children equal opportunities to complete school, and to scale the model to more schools and municipalities.

Expected results and effects:

The effect for the project´s direct target group - a group of students in years 7 & 8 at a selected school in Stockholm, will be measured in an impact measurement model with indicators related to knowledge acquisition, personal development, physical and mental well-being. The expected result is that we have tested and refined a prototype and generated learning about this type of interventions; possible effects and best practice for how civil society actors can partner with the school.

In this way, we want to contribute with a model that can be scaled up and spread to more municipalities. Approach and implementation:

The project will take place at a school in Skärholmen, Stockholm where the integrated after-school activity program will be implemented during the school year 23 - 24. The activity program will be refined in an iterative process with the students and the school during implementation. Learning is an integral part of the project where all project parties will be active and the goal is that its effects, results and best practice will be compiled and disseminated to actors in the civil society, public and private sector with the goal of generating scale-up and funding.
