18,000 students in Sweden lacked high school eligibility in 2022. Research shows that alongside young people´s family background, friends and school environment, leisure activities are important contexts that impact students´ educational results. But access to leisure activities is unequal.

We want to prototype a model for shared resources between smaller civil society organizations with the goal of creating long-term structures that enable strengthened access to leisure activities for young people in rural areas to pass school. Results : One coordinator employed 5 ideation workshops with 50 young people and 1 hackathon where young and adults co creates Skolidrottsföreningar established in two schools and engages 20 young leaders and 100 children A Sverok association established, 5 activities arranged with 50 young people Documented lessons learned and insights

Effect:

Tested a model for how small associations with limited resources can share resources and thus contribute to equal access to leisure and organization for young people in rural areas Approach and implementation:

The project is a cooperation between three organizations, with a common coordinator. Dialogues with young people initiates it. In parallel with this, youth leaders are being recruited who drive the establishment of Sverok and the School Sports Association in Skåne in Bjuvs municipality.

The working method will be developed iteratively, based on insights generated e.g. through idea workshops but also through regular facilitated learning labs between the project parties. The young people´s perspective will be decisive for the prototype´s accuracy and long-term sustainability.
