Purpose and goal:
D-RODS addresses digitalization challenges related to the usage of Digital Twins (DT), touching on several challenges of system automation, in the context of use cases (automation, transportation, telecommunication) coming from 3 major Swedish companies.
The overall goal of D-RODS is to propose and validate a reference DT framework based on trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI), supporting highly autonomous system testing and operation, optimal resource utilization (power consumption included) and increased resilience to faults. Expected results and effects:
Advancing the theory and practice in AI, verification & validation (V&V) and distributed systems, D-RODS (mainly) delivers:
* An optimizable, adaptable, energy-efficient, reliable and autonomous DT framework, with an accurate prediction of performance * New AI and V&V procedures for automation, re-distribution, etc. * High-coverage DT-based test solutions D-RODS results are expected to: * Integration of automation design and operation
* Offer up to 400 test days for external clients at Alstom Innovation Lab * Support creating a “DT as a Service” testing platform Approach and implementation:
D-RODS looks into AI, V&V and distributed systems techniques, aiming to combine them into the realisation of the digital twin framework. The approach is validated on 3 use cases.
The project is structured consequently, having work packages addressing system architectural aspects, AI developments, V&V methods and detailed specifications of the use cases. A distinct workpackage is responsible for the construction of demonstrators.
Academic (main developers) and industrial partners (mainly specifications, support, validation, etc.) are involved in each of the work packages.
