Diagona AB has introduced an innovative IT tool with the potential to become an industry standard for how regulatory procedures are carried out in construction and infrastructure projects.
Our cloud-based platform, CASAI, is transforming and streamlining the construction and infrastructure industry through digitized bill of quantities and a user-friendly workflow for regulating quantities in infrastructure projects. The platform manages, structures, and quality assures complex financial regulations in infrastructure projects.
The platform ensures transparent communication between the client and contractor in an infrastructure project.
Clients and contractors who have tested the platform have reported benefits such as increased cost control, easier review of quantities in a project, and increased traceability and control of calculation bases, review history, and communication.
Integration with databases of industry information and increased trust and collaboration between project members are other benefits provided by the platform.
Compared to other existing options consisting of Excel-based systems, CASAI provides quality assurance, smart features, and integration of applicable regulations and reference literature. The purpose of the described project is to create a new functionality that digitizes, analyzes, and streamlines mass handling between different parties and between different infrastructure projects.
In many types of construction work, there is a surplus or shortage of building materials. A contractor cannot always know in advance how much material will be required.
Unknown ground conditions can lead to too little or too much of, for example, filling material being ordered.Through the matching function, mass handling can be optimized, both between infrastructure projects and disposal sites and between different infrastructure projects.
For example, if Skanska has a surplus of a certain material in an infrastructure project, Peab can use it in another infrastructure project by matching surpluses and shortages.
This reduces the amount of material transported between infrastructure projects and disposal sites, resulting in reduced transport and reduced CO2 emissions. The project is planned in three steps:Development of an API enabling data sharing with relevant partners.Development of a mass optimization algorithm that matches mass imbalances between projects via an analysis of the quantity survey in each project, enabling collaboration between different infrastructure projects and stakeholders and thereby reducing the need for transport.Pilot project to test mass optimization creates an understanding of the conditions for implementing the solution on a large scale in Swedish and international markets. Our organization, Diagona AB, was founded in 2015 and has extensive practical experience in the regulatory process of infrastructure projects.
Our business consists mainly of geodetic survey consulting services with a specialization in infrastructure and construction projects. Diagona leads, challenges, and develops the industry through innovation and implementation of new technology.
We are the only actor in Sweden with a digitized process for quantity regulation in infrastructure projects.Through this project, we will be able to further develop our idea of digitized quantity regulation of infrastructure projects to also include a matching function that enables significant economic and environmental savings by matching surpluses and shortages in different infrastructure projects.
