Development and commercialization of a complete service for analysis of user data of public service organizations

Purpose and goal:

The overall goal of the project has been to commercialize a scalable, comprehensive service for analyzing user data from public services, initially focusing on library usage analysis. By analyzing data on citizens´ utilization of public services, it becomes possible to manage and develop these services more effectively. This allows for monitoring, improvement, and increased efficiency, resulting in significant socio-economic benefits.

Expected results and effects:

A fully developed analytics service for library operations is now ready for the market. The service has been tested under real conditions with two clients. Our analytics service has received national attention from Sweden´s library stakeholders, both at the national level and among regional and municipal decision-makers.

Our analytics service is also ready for analyzing other user data within the public sector, such as citizens´ usage of cultural activities, sports facilities, healthcare, elderly care, education, public transportation, and socio-economic support services. Approach and implementation:

The goal has been achieved through a series of diverse tasks and activities: development of methods, extensive code programming, user testing, creation of an interactive result dissemination system, streamlining of all components within an analytics project, exploration of the service´s applicability to other public services, and formulation of a business model.
