This application requests travel support to attend the DPS (Division for Planetary Sciences) and JCSC (JUICE-Clipper Steering Committee) meetings to be held in San Antonio, Texas, USA, in October 2023. The DPS-EPSC meeting is an annual meeting for planetary science.
The applicant, Michiko Morooka (MM), will present a poster entitled ‘The electronegative plasma of the Enceladus Plume’. In addition, the JCSC meeting is planned in conjunction with the DPS meeting.
The JCSC is the group that identifies and advocates the Joint Science Plan between the ESA/JUICE and NASA/Europa-Clipper missions. The members usually meet online, but a face-to-face meeting is planned once a year. MM is required to attend this meeting as a committee member.
Both the DPS and JCSC meetings are important for the JUICE project in terms of exploring the science of Jupiter’s icy moon and planning the mission science operation during the cruise and orbital phases.
