Purpose and goal:
The main goal of this project is to investigate the combination of lenses and antenna arrays to improve the scanning capability, the grating lobe level control, the energy efficiency and reduce the loss compared to the case where we use conventional phased arrays without lenses. Expected results and effects:
Our aim is to enhance the radiation performance of already existing and future Ericsson AB array antenna products operating at mm-wave frequencies and sub-THz bands. The antenna concepts that we will investigate could be scaled to even higher frequencies that are expected in future radio networks. Approach and implementation:
In this project, we will combine the recent advances at KTH on lenses, the expertise and leadership of Ericsson AB in telecommunications, and the expertise of Northern Waves AB in additive manufacturing.
