Purpose and goal:
Together with Lund University and with support from Recolab (NSVA), Spec-Imaging will develop an optical sensor that can measure water quality in turbid water where conventional optical systems do not function optimally. By being able to measure important parameters accurately in real time in the treatment process, one can take proactive measures, shorten feedback loops and thus optimize water treatment processes.
This way, the treatment plants can reduce waste and use of important resources such as energy and chemicals, and thus become more sustainable. Expected results and effects:
By collaborating closely with Recolab (NSVA) and conducting dialogue with other wastewater treatment plants in Sweden, a measurement system will be developed to meet the needs for process monitoring at the wastewater treatment plants in Sweden. Spec-Imagings´s technology will open up the possibility of introducing new measuring points and thereby improving the possibility of regulating the treatment process.
Approach and implementation:
The team from Spec-Imaging will lead the product development and validation, with support from the research team from Lunds Universitet and Recolab. Through the close collaboration with LU, it will be ensured that the technical solutions are at the forefront and optimal for the purpose. Furthermore, the creative and innovative team from Recolab will contribute with domain knowledge to ensure that the technology´s potential is optimally applied, but also to nurture new ideas in terms of process analysis optimization beyond the goals of this project.
