Glycerol-based fully green and renewable lubricants

Purpose and goal:

The project aims at developing glycerol-based fully green and renewable greases to solve the cleaning problem of traditional oil-based greases and to solve the skin irritation issues of traditional petroleum-based greases (especially synthetic esters-based ones). One of the main objectives of the proposed project is contributing to reach fossil free and sustainable society by making good use of biomass.

Expected results and effects: 1. The developed glcerol-based greases will be fully evaluated in the lab. 2. The developed glcerol-based greases will fulfil the industrial standard test requirements.

3. For one to two industry applications, the developed glycerol-based greases will be ready for large scale marketing activities.
