Purpose and goal:
ArtWork - the smart and connected workers - aims to address the lack of IoT-based connectivity for industrial workers that manually build complex products. The goal is to create a real-time, context-aware assistance system for workers, combining hardware and software with three main areas: -Digital Twins of the factory worker and station equipment to better plan the manual assembly production.
-Smart instruction generation using an automatic reasoning engine. -Worker feedback system using real-time measurement data for better ergonomics and resource allocation. Expected results and effects: The expected effects and results from Artwork will be:
1. Improved localization and tracking accuracy for parts, tools and worker with 10-20% to be able to generate context-aware instructions, plan what tools to use, transport material to the worker and schedule and balance the work on stations. 2. Improved First Time Through with 10-30 % by improving the support for operator.
3. Improved worker satisfaction with two levels (on scale of nine) by offering a modern and digitized workplace. Approach and implementation:
The European consortium collaboration fosters knowledge sharing, resource pooling and accelerates innovation enabling partners to address challenges more effectively and cross-industry learning. Artwork is divided into seven work packages, which are divided into a number of tasks and deliverables where three of them form the technical core of the project The outcomes will be tested in three industrial use cases: truck assembly, textile manufacturing, and bus assembly.
