Purpose and goal:
LAMBADA´s goal is to create a lightweight and scalable battery pack through Additive Manufacturing techniques, along with temperature control and monitoring systems. With a focus on reducing weight by 30%, the design leverages generative design algorithms to ensure low cost and efficiency. Enhanced cooling by 30% and continuous monitoring prevent thermal issues and optimize battery management.
By targeting various markets, including aerospace and electric mobility, LAMBADA´s scalable and customizable approach facilitates the adoption of electric vehicles. Expected results and effects:
The implementation of the LAMBADA project is expected to yield ground-breaking results in the battery technology domain, with anticipated outcomes including a TRL6 innovative battery pack that is 30% lighter and has enhanced cooling capabilities. Leveraging advanced manufacturing techniques, the project aims to reduce material waste. Initially targeting the space market, LAMBADA plans to introduce a novel battery pack, aiming to engage key players in the sector.
The high-strength aluminum alloy, along with exclusive sensor integration, further augments LAMBADA´s offerings. Approach and implementation:
Almatech and CSEM in Switzerland have a strong history of collaboration in developing intricate precision mechanisms for space applications. CSEM, with a focus on AM design and integration of electrical functionalities, brings valuable expertise. Application Center for AM at RISE with 18 industrial members, including Höganäs and Quintus, supports the whole AM chain within the LAMBADA project.
Furthermore, RISE has a longstanding relationship with Proximion concerning sensor integration. Therefore, these Swedish partners collectively complement each other in this project.
