Purpose and goal:
The aim is to develop a lighter design and more sustainable production of Safe at Seas RescueRunner, as well as take steps towards a more circular value chain. The following objectives are set: 1. Develop and test mechanically recycled material to print with 2. Create a lightweight RescueRunner design to be printed using large-scale additive manufacturing
3. Print the RescueRunner in the material developed
4. Promote the circular economy by using recycled fishing nets for the composite material, as well as investigating how a printed RescueRunner can be ground down and be reused Expected results and effects: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
För Netovations part, as a start-up company, the project will help their development and final objective - a more circular and sustainable marine industry.
Safe at Sea, which is an SME, will receive help in developing its RescueRunner, where design optimization, material development and the use of 3D printing will help reduce material use with 30-40%.
Furthermore, the project will demonstrate the possibilities and potential of circular materials in combination with 3D printing, and how it can be implemented using simulation and design optimization. Approach and implementation: The project will last for 24 months and consists of the following work packages (responsible in brackets):
WP 1 Project management (RISE) WP 2 Material development, characterization and recycling of materials from AP 4 (RISE) WP 3 Design optimization for weight saving and 3D printing (Netovation ) WP 4 Manufacture of samples and full-scale demonstrator (Safe at Sea) WP 5 Sustainability analysis for the processes in the project (RISE)
The WPs consist of tasks, deliveries and milestones, where everything has deadlines to ensure the project being completed on time and reaches the goals.
