In recent years, issues of inclusion and sustainability have become increasingly urgent and relevant to the field of sport science.
The 2030 Agenda with the Sustainable Development Goals has set a stage for promoting dimensions of economic, social and environmental sustainability.
This affects a range of areas in sport science, such as education, performance, health and well-being, and social equity.
Working on sustainability issues has the potential to bring together practitioners, science and methods from different research areas.The present conference welcomes participants and researchers with contributions related to inclusion and/or sustainability, broadly defined, from the research fields of physical activity and health, daily movement in schools, school physical education and health, teacher education, sports coaching, and self-organized sport.The conference runs for two days (November 23-24) with a half-day pre-conference (November 22).
The pre-conferences are intended to stimulate networking between higher education institutions and other collaborative partners, as well as for doctoral students in sport and/or health sciences (promotion) and teacher training in Sport and Health and Outdoor Education.
The conference takes place at the University of Gothenburg.The number of participants is expected to be around 200, of which 100 fully paying in the field of sports science and health promotion, 25 PhD students, 40 students, and 35 others.The following keynote speakers are invited:Åse Strandbu, Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH), Sociologist and Professor at the Department of Sport and Social Sciences and Director of the Research Center for Child and Youth Sport.Dawn Penney, Adjunct Professor of Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy at Monash University, Australia.Astrid Schubring, Professor of Sociology of Sport at the German University of Sport in Cologne.Kristoffer Henriksen, Professor at the Institute of Sport Science at the University of Denmark.
