Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

"All aboard!" aims to, from an intersectional perspective (with particular attention to gender and age) and by including different contexts and geographies, capture lessons learned and develop the knowledge on how to create more sustainable mobility for all. The focus is on different capacities in the use of new mobility solutions, new forms of accessibility and other more digital solutions.

The project challenges notions of mobility and prevailing planning norms in society that are based on mobility and centralization of basic destinations in daily life. Expected results and effects:

With a participatory approach, "All aboard" contributes to new and deeper knowledge of various conditions for changing consumer- and travel behaviors through new solutions and digitalisation. The results form the basis for policy proposals for future social development, that promote socially sustainable societies, with increasing conditions for a good quality of life and health.

This in line with the work towards the global goals, the "UN Decade of Healthy Ageing” (2021-2030) and EU´s Territorial Agenda 2030. Approach and implementation: "All aboard" makes use of knowledge and experience from pilots and implementation of new solutions (mobility- and service solutions). Research shows that

many innovative initiatives are underway, but that there is a lack of knowledge compilation and follow-up. The basis lies in collaboration and dialogues, and includes users, non-users and other key stakeholders. "All aboard" intends to involve social movements and senior activists to challenge norms and habitual behaviors, thus co-creating more sustainable future scenarios.
