AimThe present project intends to co-create new knowledge about practices for workplace inclusion (WI) for long-term social assistance recipients (LTSAR), and study practices across regions with different labor markets.
We aim to a) analyze local WI practices targeted at LTSAR in different labor market contexts and b) to develop and improve WI practices for LTSAR together with municipal social workers, local employers, and representatives of the National C ouncil for C oordination Associations (Nationella Råd FINSAM).Method and project realisationThe project has a co-creative approach, cooperating with professionals and employers from the three associations with differing labour market conditions we aim to study.
Methodologically, the project is based on an explanatory mixed methods design.
The project consists of four parts, (mapping and analysing WI practices in Sweden; analyses of the interaction between job coaches and employers; the adaption of workplaces for LTSAR and the experiences of employers in recruiting LTSAR).Societal relevance The project directs attention to a vulnerable group with weak ties to the labor market simultaneously experiencing a substantial risk of social exclusion.
We direct attention towards practices promoting WI of LTSAR by shedding light on the workplace and the interplay between municipal job coaches and employers under different labor market conditions leading to a sustainable entry to the labor market for this vulnerable group.
