The emergence of Digital Food Platforms (DFP) has revolutionized the food sector, providing convenience, speed, and flexibility.
Despite their benefits, concerns over precarious labor practices, unequal access to healthy food, and spatial inequalities in urban environments have arisen. This research investigates the impact of DFPs on urban equity, focusing on Stockholm as a case study.
The study examines how DFPs contribute to spatial inequalities through their influence on physical spaces, land use patterns, and urban logistics.
It identifies effective policies and interventions that can govern the consequences of DFPs, ensuring alignment with urban equity objectives.
Key objectives include understanding DFP diffusion in the food system, their contribution to spatial inequalities, and identifying urban policies that can mitigate potential negative consequences of DFPs while promoting spatial equality.
By examining the specific ways digital food platforms affect physical spaces, this study explores the relationship between DFPs and urban equity.
Findings will contribute to a better understanding of the spatial implications of DFPs and inform policy interventions supporting equitable urban development.
