Purpose and goal:
The project develops the idea of an innovative high-voltage generator, which could become a key technology to accelerate the green energy transition, especially for wind power. The innovation is made possible by the deeptech technology owned and developed by Hagnesia AB. The technology is based on a unique electromagnetic topology that also enables a high voltage design.
Within the project, the concept will be developed from a conceptual idea to a concrete concept, together with experimental verification (TRL3 - proof of concept) of critical aspects. Expected results and effects:
The project will result in a study of the technical feasibility and potential, with a particular focus on power electronics, together with experimental verification (at subcomponent level) that such a generator can be built. In addition to this, an analysis of potential "impact" at system and society level is made, focusing on resilience.
Expected effects are continued R&D to further develop and commercialize the technology, with the long-term goal of accelerating the green energy transition and strengthening Swedish (European) position on innovation and resilience. Approach and implementation:
The project is structured around the following work packages (WPs), where main focus will be on WP3 and WP 4 which adress critical aspects of verifying the technical feasibility and experimental validation needed to achieve "proof-of-concept". WP1 - Project management & formal reporting WP2 - System & society level impact analysis
WP3 - Detailed technical feasibility study of high voltage power electronics WP4 - Verification of single high voltage phase segment WP5 - Results analysis, exploitation and dissemination
