Purpose and goal:
The goals of the project have been to mature a proprietary technology for plasma control from TRL 2 to TRL 3 and to prepare for a subsequent demonstration project where the new groundbreaking technology can be validated in lab. Both goals have been achieved. Expected results and effects:
The results of the project show that the technology is an effective, simple and inexpensive method for plasma control. The technology is expected to have the potential to play a critical role in making nuclear fusion a useful energy source. If we succeed in fusion, it would have a huge positive impact on the whole world. It would lead to increased general standard of living, we could roll back climate change and it could potentially replace all other energy sources.
Approach and implementation:
At project start a steering group (SG) was established. The SG has been the project’s decision-making group for all questions related to the project’s strategy, organization and operations towards goal achievement. The group has met regularly throughout the project. Project team members have worked on theoretical physics, mathematical modelling, simulations, preparations for next project phase and project management. The results have been presented to SG and discussed on their meetings.
