Purpose and goal: We propose to validate the OssiGel technology in the disease context of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML): Aim 1: Generate human ossicles recapitulating the disease condition of AML patients
Combining OssiGel and AML patient cells, we here aim at forming personalized human ossicles reflecting the leukemia development occurring in patient bones. Aim 2: Validate human ossicles as an advanced in vivo drug-testing platform
Using the human ossicles, we will demonstrate the possibility to assess the patient-drug response through exposure to a standard-of-care treatment. Expected results and effects:
I slutet av projektet förväntas OssiGel vara validerat som ett överlägset alternativ i samband med AML för att förutsäga patientens läkemedelssvar. Sammanställda resultat kommer att ligga till grund för utvecklingen av en kommersiell produkt. Vi räknar med skapandet av ett nystartat företag som distribuerar OssiGel som en ny produkt för AML-modellering och drogtester.
Approach and implementation:
OssiGel will be validated as a superior alternative in the context of AML, and sufficiently developed as a viable commercial product. The creation of a start-up company will follow, and we will start attracting venture funding. In 2024, we will initiate the distribution/validation of our product to local collaborators (local academic groups and companies).
By the end of 2024, we wish to be able to distribute our product in Sweden/Denmark. In 2025, we wish to identify an industrial partner for a global production and distribution of OssiGel.
