The Department of Government at Uppsala University is pleased to extend an invitation to Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte, Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton, UK, for a three-month stay during the spring semester of 2024.

Stuart’s expertise in minority inclusion and empowerment, social integration, equal opportunities, and welfare access aligns closely with the department’s research focus.

Our invitation is rooted in two central objectives: advancing cutting-edge research capabilities and fostering international research collaboration within the fields of minority inclusion and empowerment. Stuart’s impressive academic background makes his visit an excellent opportunity for mutual academic enrichment.

With a substantial publication record, which includes contributions to esteemed political science journals, and authored books, Stuart’s research accomplishments are pertinent to the department’s focus on social and political inequalities.

To leverage his expertise, Stuart will hold seminars, guest lectures and offer supervision to PhD students during his stay.

He will also continue collaborating with the main applicant, Michal Grahn, pursuing two research projects on the integration of sexual minorities.Stuart’s proficiency in advanced experimental research designs, such as conjoint experiments, will benefit researchers at the department.

Stuart will sharing his expertise through methodological coaching and a short course on conjoint experiments and causal graphs.During his stay, Stuart will also visit other research institutes and departments across Sweden to amplify the potential for knowledge dissemination and collaborative growth.

His existing connections with research teams at SOFI in Stockholm and the Department of Political Science in Gothenburg highlight his commitment to widespread knowledge exchange.
