The purpose of this application is to hold the Working hours In the Nordic Countries (WINC) 2024 conference in Stockholm. WINC is a network of Nordic working hours researchers that holds an annual conference.
The conference brings together 45 to 60 researchers and PhD and will take place during two half days on May 6-7, 2024, in Stockholm hosted by Karolinska Institutet. The WINC conference is an important arena for contact and exchange of experience and knowledge between Swedish and Nordic working time researchers.
Also, it will contribute knowledge from the Nordic research community to Swedish working time research and to contribute to the international dissemination of Swedish research.
The aim of the WINC conference is to provide a space for researchers to present ongoing research, including early-stage research (before the analysis is completed) or research ideas, to help and support each other in the work and development of research questions, and to discuss and plan future research collaborations and applications. The conference also aims to enable PhD students and young researchers to create an international network with more senior researchers.
The conference will also start with a workshop aimed at PhD students and postdocs. The conference is expected to lead to new co-publications and research applications.
A long-term goal of WINCS annual conferences is the harmonization of working time data in the Nordic countries in order to conduct more robust studies with implications for working time regulations and guidelines in the Nordic countries.
